about

This is the majority of the "hybrid" MIDI/acoustic instrumental tracks I made during the early 1990's, after getting an Atari ST (and later Falcon) and a Tascam 238 tape deck. Musically, at that time my interest had shifted from exploring repetitive and minimal patterns to creating soundscapes, trying to express emotional states in music, and exploring ways to combine synthesizers and "real" instruments in that regard... Still, a few tracks appear to be only acoustic or MIDI, some more like rock songs, just without a vocal line...

Acoustic/electric Instruments(as far as I remember):
Guitars and other plucked instruments of various shape and size
Accordeon
Self built recorders, xylophones, slit drums, bells, percussion and toys
Waterphone

MIDI/electronic instruments:
Korg Wavestation A/D
Yamaha FB-01
Roland U 110
Roland SPV-355 (monophonic analog synth with pitch to voltage input stage)
E-mu SP12 drum sampler, also fed with short more tonal samples sometimes
Alesis HR-16 drum computer

about

edogawa Vienna, Austria

edogawa is my nickname on IRC (linux audio related channels), and I've chosen it for publishing my music.

I love to play early music on guitars, lutes and similar, and sometimes fool around with my other instruments to build unusual arrangements of such music.

During the mid-late 1980's I also started to improvise and compose my own music, combining MIDI and multitracked acoustic instruments.
